The Dwyer Dispatch

Volume 6 / December 26th, 2021

Hold on, the Dispatch? Twelve months have gone by?!
Did we fall in a wormhole, with Marty McFly?
“No way”, you say, “that’s probably not true.”
But December feels like it came out of the blue!
Alright, let’s get crackin'—as it really was fun.
Let’s distill the events of two-zero-two-one!

Milo insists we don’t bury the lede,
He’ll be a big brother, and a good floofy steed!
Name lists and showers and nursery prep,
Gearing up for this child with many-a-step.
February arrival, per the baby’s due date...
But keep in mind, it’s a Dwyer, and will likely be late.

In addition to baking a new bun in the oven,
Sarah’s into year 8, of teachin’ and lovin’.
Online remote learning—survived it with grit!
Now in-person K…a much better fit.
Walked with the Royals, for her master’s degree.
Sewed a big K-State quilt, with help from Dorothy.

From my end of things? Nothing new or outlandish.
As usual, a keyboard and code I did brandish.
Side quests, of course, out in the woodshop.
A new outdoor table, and a picture frame crop,
Laundry room shelving, a baby-centric invention,
CuBit travel to Denver, then LA for convention.

Team Shaffie, out west, went from one kid to two,
King George—handsome bundle—our newest nephew.
Brother Mike, doing well with an Air Force promotion,
Had his first big deployment, to the Indian Ocean.
Allie’s first house, commutes to [town-we-won’t-name],
Made futurity finals, for fortune and fame.

And the parents—oh baby—they’re feeling real grand,
All four so excited, to lend us a hand.
For the Swensons in Lindsborg, home projects abound.
The Dwyer home, becoming a three-grandkid playground.
A cousin engagement! Can’t wait to par-tay,
And celebrate with family, on a lovely fall day.

Vax’d out and boosted, means travel is back,
So we loaded up Milo and his jumbo food sack!
For trips to the Burly Bear, and a long Indy drive,
A K-State homecoming—the Sellers tailgate did jive.
Space needles, a treehouse, canyons for kings,
Yosemite, Seattle, and sequoia tree rings.

I think that’ll do, for old twenty-one.
Overall, pretty solid! Had our share of fun.
We recognize, though, at times it’s been tough.
Important, I think, to avoid getting gruff.
Give grace to your pals, your fam and yourself,
"Life is Good"—a reminder, from atop my desk shelf.
Kicking off the new year, we wish this for you:
Good health and much love in twenty-twenty-two!

Happy holidays, to you and those you’re spending time with!
Be safe & stay healthy. ♥— Sarah, Casey & Milo
