Tis the night before Christmas—right down to the wire!
With ink in the quill, big logs on the fire,
Hot cocoa in hand, not my last (nor the first),
No help from A.I.—for worser or worst!
It is time, once again, for rhyming galore,
As we sum up the year: two-zero-two-four!
Six years in our home, a few projects completed,
Up next? The basement—quite desperately needed.
Milo, at six, fluffy bro and role model,
With Andie out back, together they toddle.
Wrestling and jumping, across both their beds,
While visions of siblinghood play in their heads!
That’s right, coming soon—just shy of next summer,
Stay tuned for an update, about the newcomer!
Meanwhile, Andie? Questions all that we do,
At the age of (a not-so-terrible) two.
A lover of school, an artist, a reader,
A big rock-collector and grandparent-greeter!
The head of the pack and directing this show,
Sarah’s into year ‘leven, of helping kids grow.
Wolf Creek has spoken; she’s Teach. of the Year!
Her second received throughout her career.
Racking up runs, a true distance strider,
A half in Manhattan, with dear old Bill Snyder!
For me, a handful of big-ish transitions,
Now working full-time, on my own little missions.
Videography shot in high resolutions;
New client websites; open-source contributions;
Platforms for cutting and fundraising, too!
Survived a ‘cats win, at the subprime CU.
And together with friends, we covered some ground,
To sweep with the Current and see Royals crowned.
We hiked up some trails, chowed down at the fair;
Colorado with cousins, in the fresh mountain air.
From a Chi-town wedding, to the Omaha zoo;
To see Mike in Florida, where the Angels fly Blue!
In spite of the leap year, that one extra day,
Time flew once again, like a bird on its way!
Don’t know what’s ahead but we loved what’s behind,
And we want you to know, when life feels like a grind,
There’s a family (that’s us) in the good old midwest,
That thinks of you often and wishes you the best!
With love from the heartland,
Sarah, Casey, Andie & Milo
