Season's greetings from the Dwyer's, way out in Indy,
Where the weather is cold & occasionally windy.
As the holidays near, twenty-sixteen imperiled,
we bring joy in the style of the Hamakawa Herald!
One year and one month, marriage is great;
both Sarah and Casey content with their fate.
A full year it has been, we’ve laughed and we’ve cried...
many ups, a few downs, taking all things in stride.
Our team made the trek as a big-purple-pack,
to go hunting the pesky Arkansas Razorback.
With fellow cat ladies and fellow cat men,
to a bowl game in Memphis—but alas, not a win.
Wasting no time near our quaint patio,
Sarah sowed seeds and stuff started to grow!
Planting all plants, from veggies to flowers,
she inherited her dad’s bright-green-thumb powers.
Once classes were through and summer arrived,
the pursuit of the arts was quickly revived.
Up at the Art Center, painting and more…
she made new friends with little ones galore!
Outside 9-to-5 and Delta Sig code,
Casey stays out of trouble with a freelance workload.
Websites and graphics—both digital and print—
TailGator, campaigns and a photography stint.
Friends came out for the Indianapolis 500;
we watched in amazement as the Indy cars thundered!
Several hours later, after two-hundred laps,
we all went back home and took 5-hour naps.
One sister got married to a guy who’s real swell,
the other graduated from a spot we know well.
One brother, along with the whole Swenson crew,
made the trek out to Indy to see something new.
We celebrated the life of Carl A. Swenson;
his memory lives on through many traditions.
We’re thankful for family and every last friend;
you’re in our thoughts as the year comes to an end.
Have a very merry Christmas and a happy New Year!
